Sara Rankin, MA, NCC

I have had the privilege of serving as a 911 dispatcher for police, fire, and EMS. My upbringing was steeped in the first responder lifestyle, as both my parents retired after serving in their respective police and fire departments for a combined 60 years. Furthermore, my husband of 26 years has worked as a Law Enforcement Officer for over 20 of those years.

Currently, I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in trauma and resilience for first responders as well as communication. Combining my formal education with my decades of personal experience, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the various family system roles that are associated with the first responder life.

I am deeply passionate about helping individuals who work in this field to better understand and cope with the unique and specific stressors that come with their job. My goal is to provide them with a safe space to decompress, along with the tools and resources to help them navigate through trauma and stress while teaching them healthy coping and resilience skills to find balance in both their home and work life.

In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, four grown children, and our two black labs; Raven & Maisie. We enjoy spending time on our property at home, which is our forest paradise, and I love to lap swim weekly and love to cook for my family.
